Ok so you have definitely heard about our school having the “plague” (the norovirus is actually just a bad stomach bug). We had over a hundred students sick and even some faculty and staff. However, being close down sounded like a bad thing to everyone…well…let me tell you how I saw it. We had facilities coming in and cleaning our bathrooms everyday sometimes twice a day. We had Sodexo offer free food with all your nutritional needs (BEST BAGGED LUNCHES EVER!). We had constant updates about what was going on. Plus it gave me time to work on projects and future assignments. So to me…everything was great! I especially loved how Babson made themselves available to all its students. I mean what school will have Health Services open late night and weekend hours, have free food to accommodate those who were advised not to leave campus, have people disinfect your living space, and have faculty and staff members visit the dorms and rooms to see if everyone is ok????? ONLY BABSON!!!! I always thought we were a tight knit community, but seeing how it actually works in our time of need was comforting. There were also a lot of business opportunities that came out of this. Students were selling gloves and facemasks (although it was not an air-born virus haha). I was passing by Reynolds and had to take a picture of my friend Chuck selling T-shirts. This is truly a school of innovation! J In other news: Babson’s Spring Weekend is here!!! I cannot wait. There is a film festival, concert (Drop Kick Murphys), dance parties, barbeques, and Tailgating festivities. Here is a list below. Its gonna be so much fun!!!! Also the Babson Filmmaker’s Club made some AWESOME videos mimicking The Office but instead talking about FME. ITS HILARIOUS…CHECK IT OUT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLFCTSbg7aM
