Howdy Babson Bloggers!

I just returned from a long weekend in Austin, Texas, where I was competing at the McCombs International Business Challenge (a case competition with over 20 business schools from around the world at the Univerisity of Texas at Austin).

My team and I flew over on Wednesday morning. Here are few of the highlights:

  1. UT Austin is ranked number one for football (Go Longhorns). Well they were, until they lost to Texas Tech in the last 10 seconds of the game….bummer
  2. The school has a bazillion students, so it was quite a change from the Babson campus…their campus store must have been bigger than our entire campus. seriously.
  3. Meeting business school kids from around the world: different styles, perspectives, values….But no doubt - we were totally the coolest team there (ya’ll)
  4. The case was on Dell, and we had a bunch of real Dell reps as judges. The finalists and winning team got new mini Inspirion laptops.
  5. We didn’t win. BUT, we got cool T-shirts and got to swap school shirts with the other schools there. I ended up with a Case Western shirt. so we didnt go home empty handed.
  6. The weather was a lovely 75 degrees - with blue skies and sunshine everyday! Made it really hard to come back to chilly New England.
  7. Tex-Mex, Chipotle, and all things bar-be-qued. Yum.

Stay tuned for new Deb-adventures coming soon!

Over and out.
